I was seconds away from completely gutting and renovating my entire bathroom before I discovered these easy shower cubicle cleaning hacks! You may think I’m exaggerating, but I’m not. I had two companies come out to give me an estimate on a complete remodel. However, after the initial shock of the quoted pricing for a bathroom overhaul wore off, I started doing some HEAVY Googling…

My husband and I were both at a loss with our stand-up shower. It is subway tiled on two sides and glass surround on the other two, with a shower tray base. Having lived in our home for a decade, cleaning weekly with Scrubbing Bubbles and daily with a shower stall spray and squeegee after every shower, we had yet to see our shower stall looking “clean”. There was always limescale around the fixtures, grime within the grout, calcium buildup around the stainless frame and a ring of yellowing around the drain.

No amount of sponge scrubbing, bleaching, or vinegar soaking worked. We were at a complete loss.

And then I found these incredible shower cubicle cleaning hacks…

I would have never found these hacks had I not been desperate! We are not planning on this being our forever home, so definitely didn’t want to pour $25k into a ONE ROOM REMODEL! I just wanted it to look CLEAN and give it a BUDGET FACE LIFT!

So I found these insanely CHEAP and EASY shower cubicle cleaning hacks and this is what I did…

I went to the store and bought:

• 3 boxes of baking soda
• white vinegar
• 4 cheap toothbrushes
• Dawn dish soap
• Lemon juice
• 1-3 cheap squirt bottles
• 2 sponges with a scrubby side

Yup…THAT’S IT!

So then this is what I did…

4 Insane Shower Cubicle Cleaning Hacks:

#1 Tile, Grout and Base Grime Cleaning Hack.

What you need:

• Baking soda
• Water
• Bucket/bowl
• Toothbrushes
• Sponge
• Squirt bottle

What to do:

• Mix box of baking soda in a bowl with enough warm water to make a paste. About 1/2 a cup.
• Use a sponge/gloved hand to spread the mixture over all the DRY tile, grout, base areas that you want to deep clean.
• LET SIT FOR AT LEAST 4 HOURS!
• Fill squirt bottle with white vinegar.
• Spray entire shower (where paste was applied) with vinegar.
• Fill a large bowl/bucket with warm water.
• Dip a toothbrush into the water and scrub the grout lines, nooks, crannies, and corners. Re-wet and change toothbrushes as necessary. Also, change water as necessary.
• Dip sponge into water and scrub tiles and base with rough side of the sponge.
• Spray clean with water.
• Clean shower as usual.
• Repeat if necessary.

#2 Shower Stall Frame Cleaning Hack

What you need:

• Vinegar
• Lemon Juice
• Water
• Spray Bottle
• Toothbrush/sponge as necessary

What to do:

• Mix equal parts lemon juice, white vinegar, and water in a squirt bottle.
• Spray on hinges, fixtures, and other metal frame parts.
• LET SIT 20 MINUTES!
• Scrub or wipe off as necessary.
• Clean as usual.
• Repeat if necessary.

#3 Shower Head Cleaning Hack

What you need:

• White vinegar
• Bucket

What to do:

• Remove shower head from shower arm.
• Place in bucket and cover with vinegar.
• LET SOAK OVERNIGHT!
• Rinse and wipe off any remaining grime/limescale.
• Repeat if necessary.

#4 Shower Glass Cleaning Hack

What you need:

• White vinegar
• Dawn dish soap
• Spray bottle

What to do:

• Mix 2 cups of vinegar with 2 tablespoons for Dawn in a squirt bottle.
• Spray on glass.
• LET SIT FOR 15 MINUTES!
• Scrub with soft side of sponge.
• Rinse and squeegee with water.
• Clean as usual.
• Repeat if necessary.
