Preheat oven to 450F.
Grease pizza stone/pan and set aside.
Place sugar and yeast in large mixing bowl.
Add warm water and stir to mix.
Let sit for 5 minutes or until yeast mixture starts to look frothy and bubble.
Gently stir in olive oil.
Add the salt (and other seasonings if using) and 2 cups of flour.
Mix with a spatula until a ball forms. Adding more flour if needed.
Transfer dough ball to a floured surface and knead until smooth (adding up to 1/2 cup more flour).
**OPTIONAL** Oil the inside of the mixing bowl and place dough in bowl, turning over to coat in oil. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in size.
Stretch or roll dough on a lightly floured surface into desired shape and thickness.
Transfer dough to prepared pan/stone. Stretch again if needed.
Using a fork, poke holes all over dough to reduce air pocket formation.
Bake for 5 minutes on lower rack of oven.
Remove from oven, top with desired toppings and bake for another 15-20 minutes (or until crust is lightly brown) on the lower rack.
Remove from oven. Let cool. Slice and serve!
